When it comes to ethical purchasing, I have to admit, fashion was kind of a difficult change for me. While I’ve always enjoyed the thrill of thrifting, I also succumbed to the allure of fast fashion. But once I started wondering about the ever-constant renewing stocks of “ultra-affordable” new fashion, it didn’t take long for it to lose its luster. A great documentary called The True Cost delves into why fast fashion isn’t sustainable and is hurting not only humanity, but wrecking havoc on the environment.
Today there are so many fantastic alternatives to fast fashion that are worth investing in. Matt & Nat is one of my favorite ethical companies that crafts beautiful vegan leather goods; wallets, a variety of luxury bags, shoes, and more. Needless to say, I fell in love with this sky blue vegan leather bag from Matt & Nat and my sweet fiance was secretly taking notes while I raved on and on about it. He surprised me with it for my birthday last week and now I definitely need to step it up for his next October.
